Since last writing a lot has happened, both good and bad.

2007

May: Pauliger died of a drug overdose. His sister found him, but at least we know he's in peace now and with Matthew.

June: I visited my grandparents in Boston. I came home for my father's 1 year memorial service on June 15th. I also went to one of my sister's tennis matches that day so I could stay with my family. It was there I saw the 20 year old tennis coach Matt.

July: I left for an engineering camp at UMD. It was fun, and I certainly had fun with all of the guys there. After camp, Matt and I began exchanging books and movies. He taught me math and physics (He is a math/physics major at UPenn)

August: My family and I took a cruise to Bermuda. On August 12, I gave Matt a birthday present. Just a drawing and a few cookies. The tennis coaching season was almost over, but the last away match was near his house. He invited the tennis team over for ice cream, and I was specially invited to see the new theater room.
Band camp was interesting since we had switched directors, and Matt started calling me at least once per week. I also get my driver's license.

September:Matt and I start talking about House. We affectionately name the conversations House Calls. He is back in Philly going to school, and I'm here in Pittsburgh.

October: Matt gets me a beautiful book autographed by 3 famous string theorist. I love it, but I'm still not sure if there is romantic potential.

November: Matt and I start dating, and our first date is around the lake at a local park. We did not tell our parents at first because there was certainly a 4 year age difference, but we are sure this is what is right.

December: We tell our parents. They are concerned, but they let us go out together. My mom thinks it is just a fly by night relationship.


2008
January: I apply for a summer engineering program at University of Notre Dame called IEP. People at school find out about my relationship. Despite teasing they only manage to learn basic facts and funny stories, all superficial things.

February:I am accepted to IEP. I look at schools in the Philadelphia area. My mom is resigned to the fact that Matt and I are dating. She really likes him and respects that we are committed to making this relationship work.

March: Cram time

April:I perform jazz band solos, but otherwise uninteresting month.

May: I take my AP Exams in Bio and US History.

June: I go to Notre Dame, and ave a ton of fun. My grandfather moves to a more critical stage of heart failure.

July: I return home from ND and then proceed to look at colleges.

August: I celebrate Matt's 22nd birthday. We went to a Bob Dylan concert.I start my senior year of high school.

September: Matt starts his senior year of college.

October: My 18th birthday. 4 place in PIMBA (marching band competition). I am accepted to Drexel, WVU, U Dayton, Notre Dame, and Rose Hullman (no rejections)

November: Our 1 year anniversary. Done with all of my college apps. Matt scored a near perfect on his LSATS and he passed his GRE to get his masters in Math.

December: I am accepted to RPI!!!! For civil engineering!!! Matt does not get the Rhodes scholarship, but he plans to attend law school.
